Meet the Staff

Mary Madore is the owner of Leaps N Bounds and director of all gymnastics and tumbling programs.  Mary was a competitive gymnast from age 10 through to high school competing for the Waterville YMCA, Waterville High School and Andy Valley Olympic School of Gymnastics in Auburn. Her coaching career began in 1979 at the Waterville Area YMCA. Mary is a level 8 judge and currently the Maine State Judging Director. She is also the gymnastics instructor for Studio One for Dancers in Oakland and has been for the past 20 years. Mary is a professional member of USA Gymnastics, a member of the National Association of Women’s Gymnastics Judges (NAWGJ), is safety certified by USA Gymnastics, and is CPR and first-aid certified by the American Red Cross. Mary was recently named the 2007 Maine USAG Coach of the Year!

Ashley Brochu is lead instructor at Leaps N Bounds where she instructs tumbling, gymnastics and is assistant coach for the gymnastics team. She was a competitive gymnast at the Waterville YMCA for 7 years and achieved Level 8 status.  After “retiring” from competition, she coached at the YMCA for 6 years. Ashley was captain of the Lawrence High School cheering squad where she made All-American and All-Conference.  She coached cheering for the pee-wee league, completed the NCA Cheer Coaches Certification Program, is a professional member of USA Gymnastics, is safety certified by USA-Gymnastics, and is CPR certified. ashley@lnbforme.com

Kate MacKenzie is the manager of The Gym Bag, Leaps N Bounds’ retail store. Kate was captain of the Winslow High School cheering squad where she made the KVAC All-Academic Team in 2005. She danced with Studio One for Dancers for 17 years and is currently the co-president of the Thomas College Dance Club. kate@lnbforme.com

Heather MacKenzie instructs gymnastics and tumbling classes and is currently competing level 7. Heather competed for the Waterville YMCA and was the Level 5 All-Around State Champion in 2000. She has performed for Studio One for Dancers. Heather is a professional member of USA Gymnastics and is safety and CPR certified. heather@lnbforme.com

Brooke Boulanger instructs tumbling, gymnastics, preschool, and cheerleading. She is a former competitive gymnast for the Waterville YMCA. Brooke is a member of the Dance Connection’s Dance Team where she has been dancing for 13 years. She has attended competitions in Massachusetts and California and Maine Dance Teachers Club Workshops. A cheerleader for 10 years, Brooke is currently a senior captain of the Lawrence High School varsity squad, was nominated All-American for four years and made the team three times. brooke@lnbforme.com

Alaina Roy is responsible for tending the front desk in The Gym Bag. She is a 2007 graduate of Messalonskee High School. Alaina attends KVCC where she studies radiology. alaina@lnbforme.com

Alicia Nielsen is head coach for Leaps N Bounds’ All-Star cheering squad.  She is a recent graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy where she was a member of the 2007 National Champion Sparks All-Stars College Level open team. She is a 2004 graduate of Lawrence High School where she cheered on both the varsity football and basketball squads all four years, captain her senior year. Alicia coached and trained PAL/youth cheerleaders and judged for their organization from 2005-2007. Other honors include: NCA All-American Team Member 2000-2004, UCA All-Star 2002, KVAC All-State 2000-2004, 2004 Maine Lobster Bowl participant, and 2004 Fed-Ex Orange Bowl participant.  Alicia is a certified coach through the National Cheerleaders Association and is CPR and First Aid Certified.  She works full-time for MaineGeneral Medical Center. alicia@lnbforme.com

Kara Drummond instructs gymnastics and tumbling classes and is assistant coach for the gymnastics team. Her gymnastic career began at age two at Andy Valley Olympic School of Gymnastics in Auburn. She joined the Waterville YMCA program at age 8 and competed for them for several years where she earned many awards including Level 6 YMCA Maine State Uneven Bars Champion. Kara attended Bela Karolyi’s gymnastics camp in Texas. She is a professional member of USA Gymnastics and is safety certified.

Carrie Predmore is the assistant coach for the Little Leaps squad and also instructs tumbling classes.  Her 13 year cheering career began in the PAL program. Carrie is a senior at Lawrence High School where she cheers for Lawrence Varsity.  She has attended summer cheer camps at Husson College where she received the All-American award her junior year.
