Leaps N Bounds Gymnastics
Welcome to the wonderful world of gymnastics! Not only will your athlete become skilled on the four women's Olympic events: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise, your athlete will gain self confidence, coordination, work ethic, flexibility, discipline, strength, and determination! Gymnastics is a great foundation for every sport.
Leaps N Boundsoffers a variety of classes for all athletic abilities starting at 18 months of age. Each class meets once a week. To check class time, tuition rates, and availability, click on the Parent Portal button above.
Mom/Dad N Me
Children must be 18 months to 3 years of age. This 45 minute class requires parent/guardian participation. We start with a warm up and stretch then parents are instructed how to manipulate their athlete through various stations. Cell phones use is not allowed during class. Tuition is $42 per session.
Children must be 3, 4 or 5 years of age and "potty trained" to attend this 45 minute class. Class starts with a warm up "activity" song then a short stretching routine. The class is then divided into groups with no more than 5:1 athlete to instructor ratio. Athletes are challenged with four to five stations/activities at each of the 4 women's gymnastics events. Tuition is $42 per session.
Girls' Gymnastics Classes
Girls can expect 75 minutes of movement when they attend our gymnastics classes. Each class starts with a 15 minute warm up/stretch then the girls enjoy 15 minutes of fun challenges on each event (vault, bars, beam, floor). There is no waiting in line at our gym. Each athlete is working on a station at every event. We offer four levels of gymnastics classes for our "school aged" athletes: Novice, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. These classes are for girls 5 years or older. Athletes are grouped by ability level, not age. This allows all athletes to safely work towards her fullest potential. Tuition is $56 per session
Boys' Gymnastics Classes
Boys are unique in that they are more interested in exploring their athletic potential and are highly motivated to build their self-image through strength and fitness. Any activities that challenge them to improve upon their "personal best" involving time or strength achievements will be highly motivating for boys. Your son will be working strength, flexibility and gymnastics skills on vault, bars, rings, parallel bars, and floor. Five is the minimum age for these 75 minute classes. Tuition is $56 per session
Learn to tumble--essential for the cheerleader! Each class is based on the basics of strength, flexibility, and body control in order to build a safe, strong tumbling foundation.
During this Tumbling Class body awareness, body positions and basic tumbling skills are taught. These basic skills (rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and bridges) build a strong tumbling foundation. Once the basics have been achieved athletes progress into flight skills, front and back handsprings. Tuition is $52 per session.
The Advanced Class is for the athlete who can do a back handspring without assistance. Focus is on front and back tucks, layouts and twisting skills. Tuition is $52 per session.
Our Home Team was developed to give more athletes the opportunity to participate in one competition per season (two seasons) without the time and financial commitment of a full competitive schedule. Being a member of our Home Team will give you the opportunity to improve your gymnastics skills, make new friends, experience competition, and practice good sportsmanship. Our primary focus is to learn the skills and routines needed for the end-of-season competition. We will work toward "perfecting" these routines as outlined by the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Woman's Program. Level 2 is the first competitive level with a minimum age requirement of 5. This team practices twice a week for 1.5 hours each time. Tuition is $80 per session. Please contact us regarding associated fees and uniforms.
The Xcel program was designed by USA Gymnastics to offer a broad-based, affordable competitive experience outside the traditional Junior Olympic Program to attract and retain a diverse group of athletes. Maine Xcel is divided into 5 divisions based on skill level. Each division has specific requirements for routines in that division. All routines are "optional." Our Xcel Team will compete in 5-6 meets per season including the State Meet. This team practices twice a week for 2 hours each practice. Tuition is $120 per session. Please contact us regarding associated fees and expenses.
Membership to LNB's Junior Olympic Team is by invitation only. This competitive team practices 6-10 hours a week depending on level and competes in 8-10 meets throughout Maine and New Hampshire. Upon invitation, candidates will receive expectations and guidelines associated with membership to this team. Check out the JO Team page to see what they've been up to.
